drummers provide the beat, so that many people may march together; likewise, drummers *lay the groove* in which the music rides - I pray daily to be worthy to enunciate the groove as it is given to me from above. According to Alan, he was a military brat. But his father, Allison L. Keyes, served in three wars-He served with the occupational forces in Japan during World War II , the Korean War and two tours of duty in Viet Nam. He was awarded the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, and the purple heart.
Thanks, Zita. I did not know his father's military history. I knew Alan technically has no service record, although he grew up a military "brat". The poetic license of the political cartoon serves to emphasize that Alan is a soldier for the Declaration Principles of the Constitution. :-)
