JUDGE ME!

JÚDICA ME, Deus,
et discérne causam meam de gente non sancta:
ab hómine iníquo, et dolóso érue me.

Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause
from the nation that is not holy:
deliver me
from the unjust and deceitful man.

It is you, God, who are my shelter:
why do you abandon me?
Why must I walk
so mournfully, oppressed by the enemy?

Send out your light and your truth,
let these be my guide,
to lead me to your holy mountain
and to the place where you live.

Then I shall go to the altar of God,
to the God of my joy,
I shall rejoice, I shall praise you on the harp,
Yahweh, my God.

Why so downcast, my soul,
why do you sigh within me?
Put your hope in God: I shall praise him yet,
my saviour, my God.

Psalm 42 (vulgate)

How do YOU tell the difference between a speck and a plank? (Mt 7: 3-5) Are we called to a pact of silence so that each may practice one's most cherished vices in "peace?" Will the One who sees all, hears all and knows all not realize our sin if we band together *in safety* against Him?

Do not be seduced into a false humility. Because you pride yourself in "not judging" will you be exempt from Judgment? Overwhelmingly, Scripture says "NO!" Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom. Do you think Jesus gives you license to set your measure to gross lenience and thereby escape JUSTICE for yourself?

Perhaps mercy will be granted according to one's sensitivity to the slightest presence of evil. Do you spend 90% of your time ignoring God, but then suddenly quote Scripture if your behavior is challenged? Jesus never spoke of lowering the threshold for admittance to heaven. In fact, He seemed to intentionally sensitize us so that mere actions are not the sole indicator of conviction. Resolute THOUGHTS are sufficient to condemn one. Did He abolish hell? The same folks who spend the bulk of their time reveling in pleasure and indulging their id instead of praising and thanking God are the ones who apparently think so. Is there any fruit to be found on their withered branches? The manifestly unrepentant could have a nasty, eternal surprise in store.

By contrast, is the SPECK of possibly inferring guilt by speaking against the act of Abortion anywhere near the PLANK of actually killing one's own offspring? Is it possible to condemn the sin without presuming to judge the person? Of course! Actions are measurable by humans. Thoughts are not. Those who wish to rewrite morality to be a purely subjective notion are the ones who presume to be able to police the thoughts of others.

Do you judge my thoughts by assigning devious MOTIVATION to my act of speaking? Are you certain my intentions are based in seeking the power of this world instead of agape for you to spend eternity in God's presence?

Limiting my choice to speak is more grievous than limiting anyone's choice to murder the pre-born.
